# Connecting WhatsApp by phone number

### I. Connecting WhatsApp by phone number 📲

#### To connect WhatsApp, you only need to provide the phone number already registered in WhatsApp to the support group.

🔄 The connection process takes some time.

Once everything is ready, you will receive a QR code to scan.

#### What you need to do next:

* Open the link from the support group in your browser.
* Refresh the page (press F5 or the refresh button).
* Open the WhatsApp app on your phone.
* Go to the "Devices" (or "Linked Devices") menu.
* Select "Scan QR code" and scan the code from the computer screen.
* After this, WhatsApp will be successfully connected, and a new session will appear in the devices list.

⚠️ **Important: preparing a new WhatsApp number before connecting**

If the phone number has just been registered in WhatsApp, it is recommended to "warm up" the number before connecting to reduce the risk of blocking by WhatsApp.

#### 🔧 What "warming up the number" means:

For a few hours, you need to have real conversations with 2–4 contacts.\
These should be simple, natural dialogues, for example:

* Hi, how are you?
* I’m fine, and you?
* I’m good too, thanks!
* What’s new?

Connecting WhatsApp by phone number is possible without warming up, but this increases the risk of blocking if the number is new.

⚠️ **Warnings when connecting WhatsApp by phone number**

Connecting WhatsApp by number is not official, and the algorithm of WhatsApp’s operation is closed — Meta does not publish the exact reasons for blocking.

#### 🔍 From our experience:

Sometimes connection interruptions or account blocks may occur.

The main reasons for blocking are:

* repetitive messages
* frequent initiation of conversations with new contacts (for example, more than 30 outgoing messages per day is already a risk, especially for new accounts).\
  This number is approximate and may vary depending on the history of the number.

#### 🔁 In case of blocking, WhatsApp gives:

* 2 attempts to submit an unblock request
* After the third block, the number is permanently blocked without the possibility of recovery

#### 📌 Recommendations:

* Do not start too many new conversations per day
* Vary the text of your messages
* Warm up new numbers before connecting

### II. Differences between WhatsApp by number and WhatsApp Business API 🤖

#### ✅ WhatsApp by number (unofficial connection)

* This is a regular WhatsApp connection by phone number.
* It does not work through the official API, so the stability is lower compared to WhatsApp Business API.
* Simple and quick connection
* You can message first immediately (without HSM templates)
* Group chats are supported
* Buttons are not supported
* Risks:
  * number blocking
  * disconnection of the active session

#### 🏢 WhatsApp Business API (official connection from Meta)

* This type of connection is stable and officially supported by Meta
* A business page in Meta and its approval are required, which takes some time
* Requirements:
  * Create a business app in Meta
  * Link it to the page
  * Complete business and number validation
* Timeframes:
  * Business page registration — up to 1 hour
  * Company approval — from 1 to 6 months
  * App and number validation — up to 3 months
* To send the first message, HSM templates must be used, which must be pre-approved by Meta. * Buttons and interactive elements in messages are supported.
